Before You Purchase

There’s an old saying: “when the student is ready, the teacher will come.” We believe you were drawn to this website for that reason.

As you explore your options here, we want to help you make the best possible choice. Every effort has been made to honestly and accurately convey the subject matter before you purchase a class. To that end, we strongly encourage you to review all course information and to view the video samples before you make a payment.

We are confident that you will find our video courses helpful, illuminating, and easy to understand. If you would like to acquaint yourself with the instructor’s teaching style before you purchase a class, we encourage you to enroll in our free course, 15 Ways to Put the Magic Back in Writing. This course offers tips for busting writer’s block — a topic which should interest every writer. You’ll find more details about this free course, as well as a sample of the video instruction, on this webpage.

If you still need help making a decision about the best class for you, please review the instructions on our Custom Pricing Page. We would be happy to offer course recommendations, based on your goals and your level of writing expertise.

Course Refund Policy

Please read the section above, entitled, Before You Purchase.

Detailed instructions for registering and logging into your course(s) can be accessed through this link.

We do not issue refunds due to student error.

Our class content is digital and pre-recorded. After you purchase a course (or package of courses,) you will be granted immediate access to all learning components, including videos, handouts, and assignments.

Our software allows us to track student progress through every Lesson in every course. Your paid courses have an access period of 6 months, which should be sufficient time to complete all components.

If you are dissatisfied with Lesson One, you may request a refund within 24 hours of payment. If you have progressed beyond Lesson One in a single course — or in any single course within a course package — you are not eligible for a refund.

Once you request a refund, your access to the entire course (or package of courses) will be immediately revoked. A 20% processing fee will be charged. Please allow 30 days to process your refund. You can request a refund by completing this form.

If you wish to log into a course after the 6-month access period has expired, you must re-purchase the course. Our software purges all course data, including quizzes, after 6 months. If you choose to repurchase a course, you will have to start at the beginning.

Only one course refund per student is allowed during a 6-month period. Multiple refunds requested by the same student within 6 months will not be accepted. Should we notice a pattern of excessive purchases and returns, we reserve the right to remove such person(s) from our mailing list, block future purchases, and/or deny future refunds. Thank you for your understanding.

Coaching Refund Policy

For Coaching Specific to Course Assignments:

The coaching fee for course assignments is designed to cover a “reasonable” amount of email responses from your coach.

If a student’s demand for feedback becomes overwhelming, argumentative, or rude, your coach has the right to end the conversation. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

If a student is dissatisfied with Lesson One, and requests a course refund, a refund for coaching will be made ONLY if the student has not yet submitted a request for feedback.

As described on the course package page, no coaching refunds will be issued to students who “forget” to submit their assignments before completing a final quiz, or before the course’s expiration date.

Coaching fees specific to course assignments are not transferable to other “unfinished” courses.

Our coaching services are designed to teach advanced storytelling skills to individuals who are fluent in the English language and who demonstrate mastery of English writing (grammar and spelling.) If your English-language skills do not meet these qualifications, we reserve the right to end the coaching arrangement in Lesson One.

For Coaching Specific to a Work-in-Progress (aka “The Mentorship Program”)

In general, refunds are not issued.

The coaching fee is paid in advance as a “retainer fee.” A student hires the coach for 4 hours or 8 hours. This concrete time-period is pre-selected by the student.

Students have up to 6 months to engage their coach and “use up” the pre-paid time associated with the retainer fee. No refunds are issued to students due to their inactivity.
